Is it ok to just put it in a capsule and pop it down the throat? Peep is not going to go for any of this 'mix it with food' or 'make a syrup and squirt' it business. Is it pretty safe for a cat with multiple issues, including CRF and kidney infection? Will it make her pancreas mad like digestive enzymes do?

What are you giving the slippery elm for? If it is to calm the stomach, then I see nothing wrong with filling a capsule to pop down the hatch. If it is for calming inflamed gums or throat, then you need to squirt it in the mouth.

I've used slippery elm for stomach issues for Merlin. It's been a while, but I remember that there is a reason NOT to use it in the capsule form. Please do a little more research before you use it just in case.
