Interesting. I am not sure but I like the yellow preshots. It will be interesting to get a nadir when you can. Wonder how low it goes....
 
The trick for waking up mid-sleep is to do it on a multiple of 45 minutes - approximately the duration of 1 sleep cycle. That way, you've in a lighter stage of sleep and it is less difficult.
So, from the time you fall asleep, to when you want to wake up, set your timer for 1 of the following options (maybe add 5 minutes for falling asleep).
45 minutes
1 hour 30 minutes
2 hours 15 minutes
3 hours
3 hours 45 minutes
4 hours 30 minutes
5 hours 15 minutes
 
If only I knew when I would be falling asleep. most nights I just kinda toss and turn for hours. I have insomnia really bad. Anyway, had to skip this morning cuz of another meeting with a different lawyer (didnt like him) but her sugar was at 251 for her PMPS.
 
That is a nice preshot level. Some mid cycles would help tell us the whole story. :) Someone here likened it to a puzzle once...the preshots are your edge pieces but the m id cycles help you see what the picture is. I love that analogy and it's so true!
 
Well, you can feed him, wait 2 hours and shoot then if he is high enough. BUT you will need to shoot him 12 hours from that shot. Is that a possibility since it's a weekend?
 
she tested at 89 this time. I went ahead and gave her food. Its 9 now so I can wait the 2 hrs. She has an appointment tomorrow with the new vet. He has quite a few remission patients.
 
If she is continuing to drop, I think I would skip completely tonight. Tomorrow, even though she might be high, I think I'd reduce again. Maybe drop to 0.5 You want two shootable preshots.

This is GOOD NEWS! Just a little scary.
 
so I wasnt able to get a test 2 hrs later. My daughters kitty got out and we went looking for her. We never found her.:(

Dust bunnys number was 295 this morning so yes i will def reduce to .5. Is it possible that shes close to remission this soon??? I did switch her to all wet cat food after I started monitoring her.
 
295 is a good number after 24 hours without a shot.

One day at a time, although I know that is hard. Remission can be a bumpy path, but as long as you are headed in a good direction, celebrate. Is she acting more like herself? Playing, grooming, peering, pooping and eating well?
 
For your daughter's kitty, try putting out clothes that she has worn. I've heard that often brings them back since they know the scent.

My little ones have gotten out before. They usually hang around the house honestly...Elektra got out for weeks once and I saw her almost every night. Eventually we grabbed her and got her back in. Good luck!

Blanket doesnt just run away from us. We have let her out supervised before. I think she slipped out without us noticing and got locked out. Shes the kind of kitty that would go up to a complete stranger and she is BEAUTIFUL. We have had people offer us money for her before. Im scared she went up to someone and they took her. I went to our neighbors on our street but no one says they have seen her. My daughter is coming up tomorrow so I was going to walk up and down the streets with her to see if blanket comes then. Im sure if blanket is to be found then Avah will find her. Their connection is really strong.

Thats good to know. The vet today was impressed with how quickly her health has improved. He was happy that I didnt listen to the other vet. He is confident that she will be off insulin soon.

Our neighbors found blanket!!! They brought her to us last night. When Avah got here this morning they were both sooooo happy!

I actually have a trio. I have another kitty named Lucky. And as cute as I wish they would be Lucky doesnt really love up to Blanket. Dust Bunny does sometimes but its rare. Blanket was the last addition and since she was older when we got her its taking them quite a while to warm up to each other.
 
so i missed last night because my mom didnt have me back in town in time and i missed tonight because i sprain my ankle at work... past two days have really sucked... anywho, think she will be ok? im trying to get back on the schedule but its just not working out this week.
 
Time to take some big breaths. Look over her spreadsheet. She is dropping in dose and levels and looking really good.

I always view a missed shot as a fur shot - same results, can happen to anyone and part of the dance. And the way she is doing, it shouldn't be hard to get her back on track.

They say to only feed seafood a couple times a week because of the mercury. So I'd offer some others - how is she with chicken and turkey? Remember you can add warm water to make a gravy, dress it with her favorite treat or Parmesan cheese or tuna juice.
 
it was the salmon food... none of them really liked it. I tried to give it to my other kitties and they ate a little but not much. i gave her a turkey one today and shes scarfing it down. Its all over her face lol.

Even with the missed shots its appearing that her numbers dont look to bad. Even when my daughter had left the dry food out and she got into it the numbers didnt look to bad.
