Amy and Six
Very Active Member
I noticed rrrinphx posted about a related issue, but didn't want to hijack that condo.
Six was officially dx with pancreatitis today. His symptom major symptom has been lethargy. His appetite is the same - no vomiting or nausea. He doesn't appear to be in pain (I know...cats aren't great at showing pain). His CBC did show elevated pancreas values and slight dehydration (HCT 50% - reference is 30-45).
His SPEC -FPL came back at 16 today. According to IDEXX the value should be under 3.5. In November his liver/pancreas were ultrasound and no growths were found at that time.
He is current on Lantus BID 3 IU.
Atenolol for heart condition
Azithromycin (possible upper respiratory infection - started Fri 2/11)
Zentonil (milk thistle for liver support - started Fri 2/11)
I am looking for useful websites that can provide more information than I have been able to find via Google. I am looking for just information about p~titis and treatment options.
I am also looking for any information about support I can provide him to help him feel better.
I have read that digestive enzyme supplements can be helpful too. Has anyone had experience with this and is Forta Flora considered a digestive enzyme?
I would welcome any advice others have too.
