My sugar baby is all over the map. I have not put all his levels in the subject line only because it is more important that one should take a look at the past 48 hours to understand what I am watching and/or dealing with right now.

I do not have his profile completed (well, I do, but I haven't been able to get it up on google docs yet) but if one needs to see it they can email me and I will get it to you!

I am a newbie and struggling with all the idiosyncrasies of diabetes. I did have a kitty with diabetes about 25 years ago but the way we cared for them at that time was very different.

I love my Simmie, with all my heart. Like all of you, I do not want him to feel any pain or fear. Thank you all for getting us over this painful hump. What am I doing wrong?

Love to all.
Lydette and the family.

Lydette, as everyone else has said, you are not doing anything wrong.

Simmie's body simply needs to get used to the the lower numbers....the more he gets used to it, the less he will bounce, or jump to these high numbers and he will do it more quickly. You need to give this process time. Simmie did not become diabetic overnight and he will not get well over night.

It actually is important for people to be able to see the progression of Simmie's cycle as a whole as individual numbers mean nothing without the context of the rest of his cycle. As long as you have a link to Simmie's spreadsheet in your signature line, people will be able to see what has been going on since the spreadsheet started, see trends and help you.

At this point, there isn't anything you need to do. You have to let Simmie's body adjust to the changes that are occurring.

I did not notice you already had a post started for today.

You only want to do one post per day so that all the advice and information is all in the same thread. I will do a link to this condo in the condo you already did for today. I would stick with that condo as that has all your information in it as well as everyone else's responses.

You are doing fine.

What you are seeing is Simmies body reacting to the lovely green 'normal' BGs , which have been absent since he developed FD.
His body has become accustomed to high BGs and now considers it the norm and perceives the 79 as dangerous.
So, his body produces counter-regulatory hormones in an effort to bring things back to the status quo.
This is what folks around here refer to as a 'bounce' and is quite common early in the game.
It's actually a good thing - you now know that Simmies liver is on the job and will come to the rescue if needed.
With time it all gets sorted out. No worries.

So shift your focus to the wonderful Green he saw today!
keep sprinking tests at various points and a picture will unfold and guide you.
It's all good

Thank you everyone, for your patience. I am really frustrated with myself. I know how I am..I can be my own worse enemy and will tend to 'hide away' if I feel like I am irritating others. I have got to chill and I must get some sleep. As mentioned, I have some serious spinal and other issues and if I don't get rest I am useless to everyone, including Simmie...so the last few nights with getting only a couple of hours of sleep is creating a lot of problems here at home.

Anyway, Im going to bed now. All my furry kids are staring at me and saying MOM, WHAT THE HECK? CAN WE ALL GET SOME SLEEP!? and my DH is thinking the same thing.

'Night everyone. Sleep tight and don't let the kitty bugs bite!

Love to all.
