Simba's Numbers now accurate

His numbers are better now for some reason. He went NS 4 times in the last week and not much high 500+ Black. More reasonable numbers!! I think we are making headway and I may end up having to keep him at a higher BG level as his norm. He seems to be getting his rear leg strength back and not peeing as much!!

PS.. Since the last curve last week I have post his numbers as ACCURATE exact now. My machine was tested against the Vets outside Lab and I was only 25 points low. I am taking that as across the board for all readings but I don't reliably know - thus I have added 25 points to ALL HIS BG readings this week and they are still good. Experienced members can chime in about that.

I wouldn’t add 25 points to his numbers, just use what you see. Manufacturers can be out by up to 20% and that is well within margin of error. Also, differences could be higher at high numbers than low ones. I hope those green numbers on the spreadsheet don’t include an addition of 25 points. If so, he has gone into hypo territory.

I would also reduce his dose to 1.75 units for two reasons. First, SLGS says to reduce immediately if you get a number below 90, and you have several of those. Second reason, a lower dose may mean you get less of those lows that you are skipping, and you may be able to give him insulin twice a day, which is better for him and he won’t get those nasty spikes from a skipped shot.

OK Wendy. I'm reducing his dose starting tomorrow by .25 to as near as I can get to 1.75. I have gone back and reduced the 25 pt add so that now across the board it reads as it was taken with the prime meter. Thanks for the help... Atleast we are on the right path.. He is urinating so much less now and able to jump rather than pull himself up to the bed. It makes me happy to see him do that.
