I nearly cried when I saw his AMPS. Why so high???? A fur shot last night shouldn't have spiked him so high surely?

So upset.

He bounced. His body hasn't seen yellow in awhile so his liver got scared that's all. He'll come down again. We call this Liver Training. Some of them catch on quicker than others. It'll take him about 72 hours to clear the bounce and then he'll get better numbers again.

Patience is not only a virtue but a must when working with Lantus.

I recommend a long hot bath, scented candles, a box of chocolates and an adult beverage of your choice. drinking24

and an entire closet full of patience pants. But for now you can borrow an extra pair of mine.

Thanks! mmm a hot bath sounds nice but in my basement apartment there is only a shower :-(

I need the scented candles as my living room is beginning to smell like a kitty toilet with all his peeing on the floor. I wanna cry!!!

Need candles I can recommend someone here on the board that makes incredible ones...I'm product testing some for her right now and it is heaven!!! They are all handmade, with a soy base and at least the two I'm testing for her smell divine. And at least the one I have burning at the moment is cloaking the smell of cigarette smoke that came in the house from my neighbor smoking outside the other day when we could still have the windows open before the deep freeze. I would highly recommend her work, and of course I love supporting mom and pop companies.

If you want to get some of hers pm dirtybirdsoaps. Her name is Samantha and the ones I have here are Honeysuckle Vine (currently burning) and Pumpkin Cornbread...Haven't burnt the Pumpkin Cornbread yet, but it smells good enough to eat just sitting there. I absolutely adore the Honeysuckle Vine it smells just like a warm summer breeze with honeysuckle in full bloom just outside the window.

Planning on giving the Pumpkin Cornbread a good workout for Thanksgiving.

Thanks I might try that when finances are less right (right now I am trying to figure out how I can afford to buy more test strips before I run out!). I love candles though!

Me Too but always worry about burning them around the furry ones. These are nice, low burn temp and they are in cute little canning jars so you can blow them out, screw on the top and not worry about some little 4-footer knocking them over with hot wax in them. She also has a complete line of bath products as well hence the name Dirty Bird Soaps.

I know as soon as my budget frees up some after the holidays I'm buying more. :-D

I don't know what type of litter you use, Juliet, but I can't recommend Cat's Best OKO Plus highly enough. It's lightweight, wood-based, and biodegradable. It makes easily removable, well-formed clumps (making it much more economical to use - a great help when one has an unregulated kitty) and it really locks away odours. Unlike some wood-based litters, it's granular and is much softer than the pellet types. It does track a little bit, but I've yet to come across a litter that doesn't.

I think that's pretty similar to what I use - wood based pellets. No smell. However Silver is choosing to use the floor. I now have puppy training pads all over the carpet but these are also expensive.

The stress of dealing with Silver's diabetes is hard but I'm getting used to it the more I learn. But the financial toll is draining me. In a temporary job that ends in a couple months and it scares me what I'll do when I'm out of a job :-(
