Side effects after stopping Prozinc?

Hi all
My kitty has been on Prozinc since February of this year. He is 14 and we suspect maybe had developed diabetes after being on Budesonide for IB.
His BG readings have improved since being on Rx Purina dietetic diet. My vet has suggested we try stopping the insulin for a few days, hoping that maybe we can now manage this just w diet.
He’s not had insulin now since Tuesday am. He’s eating well and seems to feel well, except for what appears to be some hind leg weakness starting this morning. It’s not the typical crouch with diabetes, but seems like he just doesn’t have the full strength to jump to the sofa. A little wobbly. I just did a BG check and he’s at 169. This is consistent for him at this time of day. Is this a side effect that can resolve? Or something that maybe shouldn’t wait until vet opens again on Tuesday?

What kind of meter was it? 169 is slightly above normal. it could be he needs a slight dose. what was your dose and numbers prior to stopping? Do you have a link to a spreadsheet?
 
B12 methylcobalamin supplements can help with neuropathy. Many use the brand zobaline found on Amazon.

I’m using an Alphatrak II. I need to attach my tracking. I know it’s above the high end of the range but this seems to be where he “lives” now with the Rx food. The last curve I did was last week, after 24 hours without insulin. He started at 139 fasting, then his high in between meals was 178. While on insulin, his last curve ranged from 79 to 147.
If this gets worse I’ll call my emergency vet, otherwise will wait until Tuesday to check in. The plan w the vet was to do another curve later this week to see how he is after several days w/out insulin. But now I’m worrying about the wobbly legs.

If the legs are really that wobbly maybe there's something else going on like low potassium. When was his last bloodwork done?
 
While 179 isn't super high or anything, it's better to have him closer to 100 of you want the remission to "stick". I might do a half unit - and see what the numbers are.

Last bloodwork was in February. I’d have to look, but I don’t recall anything being out of line, except of course the new diabetes diagnosis at the time.

If you have a copy can you post the lab?
