Stub has been on ProZinc for three months. I feel that after some bouncing, he is finally (sort of) settled in: sometimes PS 400 in the bunch, now 275 - 300 PS, and numbers reading in the mid-200s most of the time. My vet feels this is ok--I don't love it, but when I increase from 3.8 (9.5 in a U-100 syringe) two times a day, I sometimes get very low numbers: 50s, etc.. I and he are more worried about that.
I have two vials of Lantus and part of me wants to try Lantus again to see if maybe he'd stabilize--plus I want to use it from a budget standpoint. If it's a bad idea, I am happy to donate these two vials.
What would you do? Is it detrimental or harmful to switch insulin like this?
