Should I let my other kitties witness the corpse of their companion?

My beloved Penpen is breathing heavily, and the vet said he may die, or may not.

My question is, in case he dies should I bring his corpse back to my home, and let my other cats, who is his wife, son and daughter to witness his death? For the sake of letting the cats know and accept his death?

Monkey, who is the son, is very attached to his Dad Penpen for decade.

Oh Peter, I am so sorry to see this about PenPen. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Do they have "house call" vets where you are? In the US, there are some vets who will come to your home. For most of them, their main business is doing at-home euthanasias, so that a caregiver can let their pet go in a safe, comfortable environment. Perhaps that might be an option.

I wish you didn't have to be thinking of these things. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: to you and PenPen and Monkey and the other kitties.

Oh Peter I am so very sorry to hear this news about PenPen. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
You have been a wonderful caregiver to him and the rest of your clan. He certainly knew you cared for him a lot.
Fly free PenPen and land softly at the rainbow bridge :rb_icon:cat_wings>o
