Currently backed down to 2u of lantus due to daily bouncing at 2.5. I was going to do a curve today as we got some nice numbers yesterday but she has clearly bounced from last night so i dont feel a full curve will give me a true picture. I will get some mid cycle readings but should i ride this out at at 2u for now?

She hasnt earned a reduction numbers wise but she always bounces as soon as we hit a blue.

I just looked a Suki’s ss and she’s been on 2u since the 13th, if it were me, I’d increase to 2.25, only 1 blue since since the 2u started on the 13th

A couple of thoughts for you to consider...

There's not really one dose that a cat does "better" at. What was a good dose last week may not be a good dose today.

Reducing the dose in order to avoid bounces is not a strategy that works. Usually, all that happens is that your cat sits it high numbers and it adds to the time to get the numbers to come down. If someone was suggesting that Suki was experiencing Somogyi rebound and you should reduce the dose, you received less than good information.

With SLGS, the dose is evaluated after a week. If the numbers aren't in a good range, you increase the dose. You've held this dose for 2 weeks. The lowest number Suki has seen is 187 -- and that was the only blue you were able to catch during this time. While you may not have been able to catch low numbers due to your schedule, leaving a kitty at a dose that isn't bringing numbers down can cause glucose toxicity (i.e., your cat starts to treat the high numbers as her new "normal") which can make it harder to get numbers to come down.

This is my long winded way of saying it's time to increase the dose.
