Should I have a set time for midnight snack?

I was advised to feed Phoenix a snack during the night to avoid the highs and lows that have been happening. It seems to be working since his BG readings are not as extreme.
I thought I was supposed to wait and not give a snack until his BG started to fall. Last night, Phoenix's BG did not start falling until close to +10. I gave him a snack but then his AMPS was higher than usual.

Should I just select a specific time for his snack? Should I feed at +5 or +6 and just stay at that time every night? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

I would not give a snack at +10 or later. It can have an effect on Phoenix's pre-shot number, as you noted. Generally, you don't want to provide food within 2 hrs of shot time.

At least in the PM cycle, it looks like Phoenix has a late nadir. If you provide a snack around +8, see if that helps. You can always adjust the time.

Thank you, I will give that a try.

Let me be clear, though. If Phoenix is in low numbers from +10 on, give food to get the numbers up. Under ordinary circumstances, you want to make sure to not feed 2 hrs prior to shot time.

Yes, I understand. Phoenix's BG is higher since I started giving midnight snacks but his BG is not having the extreme highs and lows like he had previously. Thank you for your help.
