Checked Charger close to 6am and he was 117. Withheld food and checked again a little over 30 minutes later he is 108. What do I do?? Skip, give smaller dose?

I have to leave to take my son to school
Will be back in 30 min and can check him again. He is getting very hangry on me not feeding him lol!

Well you definitely broke through some glucose toxicity!

117 and 108 are nearly flat (within meter variance), I don't quite consider it dropping.

If you can stay and monitor, and have hypo kit, I would try something like 0.25U. current dose is too high, but he does still need some insulin.

It’s good you shot. I wasn’t around until now. It was around 4:00 a.m. for me. A reduction was earned from 1.25. Last night. Your new dose tonight will be 1.0. If still under 125 tonight post for dosing advice again as we might be better lowering the dose even more since you are feeding some dry food and it will be after a skip and token dose.

Thank you! I checked him 2 hours after feed and .25 shot and he us at 76 now. I have syrup, ff gravy centers and my meter in my room. He is currently laying next to me napping. I will watch and test closely! By 8pm tonight I will see where he is at and post if he is under 125. How do I get back to 6:30am/6:30pm shot time again? I realize there is daylight savings coming up this Sunday as well.

So 1.0 is clearly going to be too much. Let’s see how high he bounces IF he even bounces. The most I would shoot is .75. Maybe .50. If lowish tonight you could skip so you can get back on schedule in the morning. If you shoot you can shoot 30 minutes early every 24 hours, either all at once or 15 minutes each cycle. How late were you this morning?looks like you are not much more than 30 minutes off so you might be able to shoot on time tonight.

It is almost 1pm here so you are 2 hours behind me. I just checked him again and he is 99. I was an hour and a half late on shot time this morning. I will see what he is tonight and go from there! Thank you for all your help!

I just checked him 30 min close to his normal 6:30pm shot time and he is 88. I will check again in 30 min and then decide to do a skip or .75 or .50

Flat! I'm impressed.

I'm actually leaning towards 0.25U again tomorrow, as long as he's similarly around the 110 mark or higher and you can monitor. We want to get dose you can give consistently, but he's got something else planned!

If the same thing happens tomorrow, perhaps 0.1U Thursday but let's see how he does

Yes absolutely correct. We love green!

Continue to test at your usual preshot time, and then 2-3 hours after he eats. This is looking like an OTJ trial...2 weeks without insulin, we'd like to see him stay mostly green.
