Vet gave us this. But I'm reading and finding we may have more options. Cheaper too. This is only our second week since finding out. Thanks.

Ps. How often do you feed?

You can use it. There are better and cheaper options so your other option is to return it to the vet for a refund. Just tell them kitty won't eat it. A lot of cats won't, and they'll give you your money back.

You have to feed at both shot times, but many people also feed smaller portions during the day or night. I used to feed at shot time, and halfway between shots, for instance. A lot will depend on your schedule, but multiple small meals is better in most cases than just two meals a day. It spreads out the food boost to the BG more evenly. The only time you don't want food eaten is in the two hour window before shots. You want the test you get at shot time to not be influenced by food.

DM has been OK for us, but expensive. Canned only, though.

I advise against the science diet m/d canned--too high in carbs and really messed with my cat's blood glucose.

Yes, definitely stay away from any Hill Science Diet food!
