Scratches did not have her insulin this am because her bg was 109. It's currently storming outside and she's terrified of storms so she will not eat dinner. Her bg is 437. Should I shoot her even though she hasn't eaten anything? If not, she will not have had a shot all day.

I got her to eat a bit. Nevermind haha

sorry about the storms, I can sympathize because Idjit is terrified too. Hope she continues to eat and her BG calms as soon as the storm does.

You think we should make sound proof panic rooms for our cats?

I let her eat a few treats and hand fed her some wet food. Spoiled much? Anyway yeah, these are the things my vet never bothered to mention. Like, probably shouldn't dose under 200 until I know how she reacts and until I'm more experienced..little things like that I feel like she completely failed to mention. My mom works for dog control in my area so she knows all the local vets, she's getting me an appointment with a different vet so I can get a second opinion on her treatment plan. All these conflicting ideas and treatments are really not working for me or for Scratches.

Was just wondering how Scratches was doing and tried to look at her spreadsheet. It says I need permission which means the share is not set up on the spreadsheet. Can you change the share to allow anyone with the link to view? :)

It's hard to figure out at first, but you are doing well. It's unfortunate that many vets just don't have the knowledge and experience with feline diabetes. But, you have found a resource that does have the knowledge base and experience.

I am being honest when I say that I would depend on the advice I get here, over a vet, about FD. My vet was inexperienced in this area, but probably a very good animal physician otherwise, and it's because of this resource that Idjit survived initial treatment and is thriving today.

Of course Scratches is spoiled, good grief, would it, could it be any other way?:cat:
