Should I change the dose?

Hi,

So Missy has been on 0.25 units of insulin x2 day.
I'm seeing high numbers after switching him from 0.50 to 0.25, I'm not sure if he needs to go back on the half unit.

A couple questions first. Is it possible for you to get tests in the night time cycle after PMPS? Many cats go lower at night and without that data we have no idea how low she's going then. It's actually a requirement to follow TR to get those night time tests. There are also some daytime second tests missing and she did get to an 86 on the AT yesterday. That doesn't argue for an increase. It could be she's seeing lower numbers the cycles you aren't getting those second tests, and then bouncing.

Second question, I see she's going to a pet hotel in a couple days. Unless they can do a lot of testing, I'd be tempted to hold her at the current dose until you get back. Or possible even lower the dose to 0.1 units.

He already went to a pet hotel for a couple of days, he came back with same glucose numbers as when I left. Night before going to the hotel he was 86 at night but I wonder if it was because on that day he only ate a breakfast and dinner only, usually he also gets mid-day food, the next day morning he was 171.
Im not sure what to do now, just take PM tests or reduce the dose, his PM tests are usually the same as his AM tests. Also I don't follow TR anymore since it requires a lot of tests every day.
So it's now go slow method with additional tests sometimes.

I missed scrolling further down in the spreadsheet. Maybe turn those cells another colour for the days your were gone or put text in them saying you were gone so others don't miss it too.

Could you take TR off the signature if you are no longer following it. Regardless of dosing methods followed, it's still important to try to get a before bed tests. Many, probably the majority, of cats go lower at night. We dose based on how low the dose takes the cat. A cat's BG patterns can change over time. And it's been weeks since you got regular PM tests. I would try getting a few PM tests first. With SLGS, our other dosing method, you reduce if they go below 90. But it's been a couple weeks since he's done that and he doesn't look ready for a dose reduction. In fact, the current data you have does look like an increase is needed. Give him one more day at this dose and see if he gets any lower that you spot. If not, increase the dose.

Yeah it's hard to know if he is bouncing high or his body isn't making enough insulin. I'll give give the 0.25 units now AM and take some tests today and also PM tests.
