I am really confused, I've been trying and trying to get Angel stabilized, but it's not working! She has lost weight since her teeth cleaning. Someone suggested I change her insulin to lantus? I need some suggestions, I've updated her ss. Please let me know what you all think I should do?
Thanks in advance, Diana

It's possible that Lantus would work better for Angel, Diana. It tends to give longer flatter cycles which might help her bouncing. Is your vet willing? I would check out the Lantus forum, read some of the threads and the information at the top of the page and see if it looks like a good possibility.

Thanks for the reply , I,haven't asked my vet yet I am trying to check out the costs and others results first, I am not sure at this point what to do..

Hi Diana,

I switched my guy Eddie from ProZinc to Lantus just over a month ago and am following the Tight Regulation protocol, and I've been pleased thus far. In my opinion - in some ways Lantus is easier to use than ProZinc since there is a well-researched protocol to follow, and in some ways it's a little more difficult, because it's a depot insulin, so it works differently than ProZinc.

I do encourage you to read the stickies in the Lantus Tight Regulation section - there's a ton of information there that should give you some of the info you need to decide whether Lantus might be a good fit for Angel. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them for you.
