Shorty's numbers have fallen in line better than I expected. We have actually transitioned him to all wet, and the other two cats are at about 80% wet, although they aren't eating as much as I would like. Getting some yellows and blues more often now. Tested high a few times, but getting more lower readings than high recently. And it's just been a few days.

[edit] Of course, this major food change has induced major bubba guts in the cats. You can tell when one has had a BM all the way across the apartment, and I just HOPE it starts getting better quick. Not sure if we have enough Air Fresheners.

That's great news!
Just wanted to give a note, if you transition him to all wet, please watch Shorty closely because the food will bring his numbers down and if you are still giving the same dose of insulin (you are right?) then at some point it could be too much insulin. And then you need to decrease the dose a little bit.

I'm with Ruby. Keep a close eye on those preshot and nadir numbers. Wet food can really bring down the levels. And he looks like a very carb sensitive kitty - good info to have, both in terms of his usual diet and if he'd ever drop too low. That jump from 158 to 523 when he ate forbidden food was telling!

We're noticing that. We're actually going to drop his AM dose tomorrow, especially since we are both going to be out of the house from AM +2, till about AM+8, and seeing how low and quickly he dropped tonight. I fed him more food at PM+3 because he had dropped all the way down to 85. At +4 he had dropped to 71. He's not showing any signs of Hypo except for a little hunger, but he's been eating better the past few days anyways.

You got some nice greens last night. Since food and insulin take awhile to work together in their bodies, I think I'd lower the dose a little and see how he does. My thinking is that if it not enough insulin, you can always raise it a
Smidge later, but if it's too much, you have to deal with a hypo.

He's more active than he's been in forever. I woke up this morning, for the first time in years to Shorty sitting there staring me in the face. Some backstory: Sarge was my cuddle kitty bed time guy for years, he'd fall asleep in my armpit. Shorty came along, and started sleeping next to my hip. Sarge... crossed over, and Shorty stopped sleeping with me about the same time. But, I woke up to him staring me in the eyes. Wasn't sure if it was good or bad, until I put food down. lol.

I'm still wondering if he is bouncing from those greens Sat night.... reluctant to raise him back up to 2 units unless one of us is going to be here, after seeing those. They were so soon after his shot.

Plus, I'm wondering about his urination today. He's either peeing when I'm not seeing him, or he's holding it on in. I've felt him though, he doesn't feel like he's got an overly full bladder. But with 3 cats, it's hard to tell who is peeing when if you don't witness it.

Just keep an eye on it. If the bladder doesn't feel full he's probably urinating when you aren't there.

Well, we lost one, Sarge, a few years ago, after his third blockage. Shorty isn't hiding, isn't objecting to being picked up, doesn't act like he's in pain when checking his bladder. He has felt a little cold a few times, not consistent though, which makes me wonder about his Potassium... which then makes makes me think of kidneys and bladders. Maybe I'm just being a worry wart at this point......
