Hi all. Our kitty Pasha had diabetes in 2010-11 but went into remission, then came roaring back this month. Very sick kitty but hopefully starting to mend. (Also had UTI, uveitis, FIV, hyperthyroid, etc.!!)
Anyway, back to insulin. I always used the short needles for Pasha and our previous diabetic kitty (4 yrs) because HALF the time when using the regular needles, I end up with insulin on fur instead of sub-q. This has ALWAYS been a problem for me, I ALWAYS had to use short needles.
NOW it seems they don't make short needles for U-40 insulin anymore!? The vet, our pharmacies, and online--I can't find them anywhere. Is this true???? Does anyone know where I can get short needles for U-40 insulin (Prozinc)???
Thank you. I'm desperate, because otherwise our cat is essentially getting, on average, only one insulin shot per day, with my apparently incorrigible technique. With the short needles I never had a problem.
Thanks for any help!
Nancy
