it can get confusing, can't it? i saw you started a new condo to get your question answered. that worked - dyana saw it.
what wendy meant is this. we keep everything in one condo per cat per day (everyone else in the english-speaking world calls them threads, but here we call them "condos" for cat condos, ie, the place where a kitty lives.
so, when you've opened a new condo for the day, you have a subject line and the first post. that subject line is what is visible on the main Lantus forum page and what people see at a glance. as the day goes on, you edit that subject line of the first post, and your updates are visible to everyone looking at the main page.
when you want an answer, however, you want to edit that subject line, but also add a "reply" at the bottom of your "condo." when you add another answer (which is the same as adding a new post or reply) that bumps your condo/thread up to the top of the main page. if you only change the subject line in your reply, it won't be visible on the main forum and no one will see it.
for example, your first post of today had a subject line like this: 12/2 Oliver AMPS 352
as the day went on, if you wanted to add his +3 or +5 or whatever, you could've added them by editing the subject line of the first post. you don't delete the content of the post, just edit the subject line.
then as you got the point where you needed help, you could edit the subject line to something like this:
12/2 Oliver PMPS low - shoot or not?
12/2 Oliver Need dosing help now
and clicked on the ? post icon above the reply box, just like you did.
then you would do a reply to your own post and add a new box, explaining what's going on and what you want help with. That reply will bump up your condo to the top of the page and makes it far more likely for someone to see you need help now.
does that make sense at all? i'm trying to type with my kitten, McGee, going nuts all over my lap cuz he's happy i finally came home. :lol: so if it's confusing, let's blame McGee!!!
the other part she mentioned, the post icons, that includes the row of pictures across the top of your screen when you're doing a reply - the candle, rainbow, OTJ, ?, etc. you used a ? icon on your post - which is super because we can see that. when you get your question answered, if you uncheck the ? mark then people will know you don't need help anymore. otherwise if they're me, they keep opening your condo to see what the question is! :lol:
i'm not telling you all this to criticize or anything - when you're worried and new we all get it that you need answers any way you can get them!!! it's totally ok!! i just wanted to explain what Wendy is talking about and how we can make sure you get the help you need asap! if everyone has one condo per day that keeps everyone on the front page of the Lantus forum and no one gets missed or bumped to the second page. don't stress about all of this - the idea is to help people not to make it difficult. as you get the hang of it, it won't seem so complicated.
