SHANGA KEEPS TRYING...

Hello Guys,

I couldnt write before because I was too busy with the situation...
I went to vet yesterday,Because Shanga didnt feel good, and didnt eat anything.
So He got a tube from his nose so I could feed him.But the food contains fructose so that was a problem. And the food made him puke again...
I talked the vet and learnt there was something about his jaw. When they pulled his canines the jaw seperated a bit.( and I went a bit crazy about it)
I thought someething went really wrong and they didnt tell me...
So it was a terrible day yesterday.
But this morning early I went to another vet to make Shanga Check. They took xrays and said there was a little something and he can get operation again or it will knit in time... And they found shanga so weak and give vitamins and immune boosters...
I stopped the use painkiller yesterday, because its like Metacam. I changed the antibiotic today but it made him puke as well ...
But vet today told me that i can feed him with syringe. It works, he doesnt puke but He doesnt feel ok...
But He tries... Hopefully he will start to eat really soon.
I started Lantus yesterday... His BG was 165 and since I could fed him from tube, I decided to start Lantus...

We are so sorry to hear that Shanga is having problems. He is a wonderfully brave kitty and I know that he will begin to eat more and feel better soon. He is trying hard because he loves you very much and wants to get better so that you won't worry. Are you giving any pain medicine? The only one with which I am familiar is bupe, but I'm sure that others here can give you the names of other medicines. I'm glad that you stopped the Metacam.

Oh, Hande, you and Shanga have been going through so much with his health over the past months. I know how very much you love your baby boy and worry about him. {{{Hande and Shanga}}} You're the absolutely best kitty Mom Shanga could ever hope for. I know you wanted the best treatment for Shanga's stomatitis to give him a pain-free life, Hande, and right now it must feel as though the cure is worse than the ailment. But Shanga will get better with your loving care, and you'll both be happy together again. Healing from a major surgery like the one Shanga's had recently takes time, more time than we'd like when it's our furbaby, your sweet Shanga, hurting. Shanga, feel better soon, sweet Bunny, (as my husband Ken would say).

Hande, I'm glad you got the nasal feeding tube as a measure to get Shanga to eat. You've done a good thing for your dear furboy by getting him to eat. Hopefully, you'll be able to get that tube removed soon, and Shanga will be eating again on his on.

I DO believe in miracles, Hande. Sometimes they're the small, day-to-day kind of miracles. I wish those for you and Shanga, Hande...a miracle each day as Shanga starts to feel better and return to good health.

i'm so sorry he still feels terrible. good choice on getting the nasal tube, though - getting some food in him will help him feel better.
