Shaikha 6/7 t.i.d. + midcycles

I am beginning to think she's not getting results from this antibiotic as she should be by now. She feels warmish and mostly is lying around like she just doesn't feel that well. Eating is okay, though not terrific. I was going to take her to the vet Thursday but plan to take her tomorrow to get renal function tested and to see whether we are clearing up the UTI or not. This may be why she's struggling a bit with her BG. I decided to give her the usual 0.8U this AM. I had to go out of town most of the AM so I wasn't able to test until the end of the cycle so don't know if we got a drop or not. Will try to test midcycle more. That said, if her infection is still in full swing that will throw things off anyway. I think she's improved some, just not "well".

6/6 PMPS = 450, gave 0.8U
6/7 numbers:
AMPS = 199, gave 0.8U
+6.5 = 193
MDPS= 203, gave 0.8U
+3 = 251
+5 = 247
PMPS = 298, gave 0.8U (much better!)
 
I'm glad you'll be seeing the vet tomorrow. Maybe you will get some answers. I hope all goes well. Let us know what you find out.
 
Flattish could also be too little insulin. ? Maybe try a 0.9 on a higher PS and see if you get greens? Just brainstorming, I really don't have any clear sense of things with her right now.

That makes two of us. I can't figure her out either. She's always been unpredictable. Some things you can figure out, but other times it just seems like her pancreas goes bonkers. This evening I'm not sure we got any blues but we at least stayed out of the higher numbers for a change, even though it seemed pretty flat most of the day. Will let you all know what happens at the vet tomorrow.
 
Well, last night's reading was the best I've seen since 5/31 -- only 298. Sorry I didn't post it -- I thought I updated but apparently only got the SS. I was pretty beat last night. Maybe the extra insulin made the difference? It almost seems like she's getting a deficit during the day and by evening it results in her being much higher. At any rate, I shot 0.8U each time yesterday and though she was still flatter she didn't zoom up like she has been. Progress on that score, whatever the reason!
