She had a repeat of her fasting blood work done today, so she didn't get her food or insulin at the normal times. By the time we got home, it was +12.5 after her last dose, hence the high reading below. I had to make a judgment call on the insulin dose. I'm not sure it was enough given her numbers, but between the pancreatitis and liver infection she's got a lot to cope with already. I may have to do some sort of interim smaller dose before trying to give insulin at what would be her usual time if her levels start spiking too high. I don't want her getting up into reds and blacks again if I can avoid it. She's already got one red for today. Suggestions on how to deal with the remaining time today?
6/20 PMPS = 349, gave 0.9U
+9.5 = 321
6/21 numbers:
AMPS = 473, gave 1.2U (this was at +12.5 after her PM dose last night due to fasting blood work this AM; gave more than usual as result)
+2.5 = 339
+4.5 = 294
+7.5 = 286 (I wasn't sure what to do here, so decided to wait a little while longer to see how it would go rather than shoot)
+9.5 = 195 (glad I waited!)
+10.5 = 236
PMPS = 236, gave 0.8U (this was a +10.5 after her late AM insulin; I decided to shoot because I needed to get to bed and she was finally rising)
