Re: Shadow AMPS 568

interesting question - i was just reading about it yesterday. there is something called a "dawn phenomenon" that happens in diabetic people as well. overnight the body releases growth hormones and those cause the higher BG's. i've heard that kids only grow while they are sleeping and it's been documented as much as 5/8" growth overnight.

this will eventually come down. cats on their way down the dosing scale usually have the last number to come down as the morning preshot.

hope you enjoy your day out. the only good thing about the high morning number is that you can be comfortable leaving shadow without testing while you're gone.

Re: Shadow AMPS 568

Hi guys .. yep, I've read on here that morning numbers are almost always the last ones to come down .. Take julie's advice and enjoy the day! have a great weekend!

Re: Shadow PMPS Hi 600+

Hey julie, thanks for the info!

I got back in time to give him his shot on time and test him. He was Hi at PMPS. Hopefully he comes down.

I did have fun today and I enjoyed my time out! Thanks all.

C'mon down Shadow, show us some pretty colours.
I've been telling him this whole time! He hasn't decided to listen to me quite yet, he still thinks he knows what's best.

The numbers after PM shot seem pretty consistent, even after the dose increase. I hope they start falling... He was real purry this evening and seems to be feeling okay. :)

That's the kind of WCR (Whole Cat Report) we like to hear. Letting us know how he seems to feel tells us something. Because Shadow is more than just a bunch of numbers to us too. But come on down Shadow  cat_pet_icon
I hope the new dose kicks in today. Sometimes it takes a day or two for a new dose's effectiveness to be seen.

Hey Dyana! I think I'm starting to catch on to all the fancy acronyms you all use around here! He does seem to be feeling better lately since we switched him to levemir and he has been sleeping in my bed now (which he hasn't done for months) for some reason. I don't think his litterbox is as bad as it was, but there are still some pretty big clumps.

I hope the new dose kicks in today as well, I will be so excited when I see him in the 200s.

Thanks for the link I learn something new every day on here. Looks like today could be the lucky day!

Almost bed time for me. I may test Shadow once more before I go to bed.

Edit: Tested at +8 and was 484
