Hi all,

Just back from MEME's appointment, the vet was amazed about her curve and she said that i didi nice job by decreasing the dose, she said it is a sign that her pancreas is healing.

I've should told her that i had an amazing support and wonderful people who worked with me day by day and night after night.

She said that i have two options now:

First to go one more week with this dose and see what is happening.

The second one is to try a whole week with ni insulin to see if she is healing.

But i thought it is too early for cut off the insulin, is that right?

Sounds like a great vet visit! :)

To answer your question, it does seem like giving the pancreas the support of a little insulin for a longer time leads to stronger remissions. If it were me, I'd try to go as long as possible on the 0.25 (and then down to 0.1 or even smaller-- see here) dose before doing a trial.

This is so exciting! :woot:

Yes me too, i saw many members' SS and they keeping with small doses even with low BG.

I know it is early because her BG still going up sometimes to 200 so i prefer to go with your advice and continue.

I'm glad the vet visit went well. Usually when a kitty is ready to go off insulin the numbers are all green. Some however just bounce all the way off the juice. Keep doing what you're doing until Meme tells you she's ready for less insulin.

Work that juice gently MEME:D Green is good! Make sure to get more tests in to monitor how fast she’s got a mind to slide tonight!

I'm not an expert at reading spreadsheets but it looks to me like Meme likes to drop early and fast. I wonder if a small LC snack at +2 would help slow the drop?

Any comments from the experts about this idea?

I start doing that as i noticed that she dropped fast always at +3 then start to hold BG.
