For the first time since I got Kahlua, we need insulin. Her Lantus vials have lasted us 6 months each. Her current one was opened in Sept. of last year. One of my local pharmacies has Semglee for $85.05 for a vial and $123.55 for the pens. The Lantus vials remained good forever. Is it the same with Semglee? Or should I get the pens?

Per unit the cost of the pens is about the same as the vial.
Based on you current dose vial would last more than 330 days.
Some users do not get a vail to last that long. Also, other have dropped and broken a vial.
Thus, I would get the pens. You shouod be able to use them up with no probome and they do not break if dropped.

That's what I was thinking, too. Thank you!

I had to throw out my vials after 6 months but used pens to the last drop. A box of 5 lasted me a year.
That's what I've read about vials. But my first one came with Kahlua and it was left put of the fridge regularly. I used it to the last drop. The next bottle came from a lady in town. It had been used and opened in Sept. of 2021. I'm just finishing it up. Weird....

Watch closely when you start your new pen or vial. The bg might drop although you are seeing green with this vial.
I will. I'm actually hoping she'll have some better numbers with a new insulin. She's been so unpredictable lately.
