seizing kitten

7 months old been going on for 15+ minutes, have Phenobarbital for other 10# cat with seizures. No valium on hand. An hour away from ER trying to reach local vet via phone.

What else can be used to reduce seizure?
Will Phenobarbital work immediately? Take time to build up in system? Better than nothing? Kitten weighs 5'ish pounds

I would call the vet before giving anything. Valium (diazepam) is what is typically used.

Prolonged seizures are not a good sign.

I'd be afraid to give a cat that is actively seizing anything by mouth for fear the kitty may aspirate. Is there another vet in the area that you can go to. It sounds like a terrible situation. Please let us know what is going on
