I've been up most of the night worried sick about Jasper. Before we could address his issues of not letting us give him his insulin I got home from work yesterday night and noticed that he hadn't eaten all of his food. He had also vomited at least twice. We forced him to have his insulin at 6:30 yesterday night and he's only gotten worse. He's almost constantly been drinking water overnight and vomited several other times. His chest is covered in in water an vomit. He's peed on the floor in the bathroom and i very weak. He hasn't eaten any of the food we put out for him. I tested him at 455. I plan on taking him to an emergency vet today.

I'm bawling my eyes out right now.

Oh, sweetheart, I am so sorry you're going through this.

Vet visit sounds like a good idea.
Keeping fingers crossed for you and Jasper that all goes well.

We took him to the ER vet at 5:30 this morning. He had ketoacidosis, some liver and kidney issues, and his gums were very inflamed. The emergency vet figured that with his age there was that chance that it would just happen again. We were told he was one of the sicker ones he's had. We were going to have him stay over the weekend where they would get him regulated and other tests including urinalysis and testing for crystals. After speaking to our inlaws, Jasper's former owners, they decided that with his age they didn't want him in any more pain and to let him go.

We're trying to clean up the aftermath with spurts of crying our eyes out, often. He's over the rainbow bridge now

Fly free Jasper.
