mr b has started in with his seasonal sniffling, congestion, sneezing. We used to get chlorpheniramine in flavored chews from a past vet, but i dont know the ingredients and now that he's diabetic i dont know if that would be a problem. I have had zero success pilling him with that medication in tablet form (chlor trimeton?) my understanding is it is extremely bitter. I've also heard it can be dehyrdrating, which is the last thing we want in a diabetic cat having hydration issues already.
We've got liver inflammation so there's that to consider.
Should i try zyrtec? Claritin? Something else? Are some to be taken short term only? During a bad spell last spring/summer he was taking chlorpheniramine every day for weeks.
Is l-lysine a good option?
One vet recommended saline spray up his nose. Haha yeah right how could anyone manage administering that!? Hilarious.
