Hi all! Is there a search feature on this forum? I wanted to see what everyone thought of the food PURINA ProPlan DM Dietetic Management dry food as a “snack” option for my 12 year old newly diagnosed. I didn’t want to bug everyone with a new post if there was a way I could search for a keyword and get the information I’m seeking.
I asked for a prescription for a dry kibble from my vet and that was what they gave me. Just curious if anyone has any personal experience with it. Apologies in advance if it’s there and I’m just missing it!!

As you have probably found by now, the DM dry is 33% carbs, way too high for a diabetic cat. It's called dietetic management not diabetic management, for a reason. There is no prescription dry food kibble that is appropriate for a diabetic. In the US, you can get Young Again and Dr Elsey's dry food food that might be suitable, though apparently Dr. Elsey's has recently changed their formula.

Ok, thank you for the info. It was coming up when I searched "Diabetic Cat Food" online, so I was just curious about it.

You can still give 2 teaspoons of FF as a snack or some plain boiled chicken in water

Thank you! I do have some freeze dried salmon and shrimp I give to him as a treat every once in awhile. But he is really missing his dry kibble that he had been free-fed for 12 years...so I wanted to see if there was some crunchies I could give him 2 times between meals.
