? Saw a bunch of lemons yesterday--this am--black moldy fruit--+5.5=248

my eyes shut at +6...lucky to get a +4----Where's the insomnia when I need it? I assume she went lower than she's used to to get the black this am. I can only get a +5 at lunch today...thoughts?

When my girl is bouncing any data in the middle of the day at least lets me know the insulin is still doing something other than letting her read blacks at PS test times. I'd ride it out for a few days and see what happens.

@ 5.5 = 248--Big drop---are we looking at too much insulin, too little--just an adjustment in her body??? Holding at 2.25. It's been a week since the increase.

Your spreadsheet says SLGS?, so I'm going to assume that. According to SLGS you hold the dose 7 days, get enough data with a curve and then decide what to do. Today is day 7 and you've done the curve yesterday. There weren't any numbers below 150, so that means an increase tomorrow to 2.5 units, unless of course Nova decides to throw you a surprise before tomorrow morning. Nova saw a long stretch of low yellow yesterday, probably longer than he is used to, so is just bouncing. Large drops can also cause bounces Perfectly normal. It will go away in time.

Your link to the last post here: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/major-venting.226481/ Nothing like a good pity party, I had a few myself in the day. :( Helps to have good friends here who know what you are going through.

:arghh: :( Not the answer I wanted to hear, of course. :( Thank you. I think I understand why.

Thought bubble in my head.....{{{If only I could go back in time and reduce that dose right away when my first green appeared as recommended...who knows}}}} (sorry--this thought just won't quit!)

Thanks again-really. I'll get some late night tests in tonight---seems she peaks at about +6

Here's my post from today.....

So Nova is in a bounce judging from her amps. I do understand what a bounce means, but I am VERY skeptical as to giving her an increase at this time...aren't we supposed to wait until the bounce clears before deciding? Wouldn't an increase in insulin make her bounce even more? Something does not feel right to me... I'd appreciate all the advice you have. Thank you in advance.
is there a recent history of ketones? If so you must be very careful about having enough insulin on board

I agree with Wendy’s assessment.
I do however understand your anxiety.

A mid cycle test tonight and perhaps a +10 would go a long way in helping you decide on an increase in the morning.

Removed GA--sorry---no history of ketones. None shown at Labs at DX. Will do my best to get those tests to aid in decision. Thank you.

I did curves on 3/1 & 3/3

Yes, I could see the curves and your other data. Good job on that testing. It tells me Nova likely needs more insulin. But those extra tests Sandy suggests will confirm it.

Answering the question from your other post - there is nothing wrong with increasing during a bounce. You want to try to avoid increasing on the same cycle as they break the bounce. Bounce breaking cycles have extra downward momentum, and increase on top of that can be a little “exciting”.

Extra insulin can cause them to see lower numbers, which will cause a bounce for sure. But the only way to get them to stop bouncing is to get them used to seeing normal blood sugar numbers. Plus a little more insulin can help reduce the height of the bounces,

Thank you for the clarification. Takes a bit of the edge off.

@Wendy&Neko I apologize if my last post offended.....I guess I just don't understand this disease that much and it just scares me so much. I really do appreciate your advice and help---even if it doesn't seem like it.
