Just wanted to say thank you for all of your support, in years past and present.

My sweet girl, Savannah, has passed. We let her go this afternoon. She earned her wings for sure.

Savannah was really my husband's cat ("she came with the husband"). I was always a dog lover and unconvinced that she could win my heart. Well, she did. Within a year of dating my future husband, I began to worry about her, take care of her, and enjoy her company. And to my amazement, she was quite dog-like. She enjoyed some rough housing, and was always up for a little fight, with a string or ball point pen of course. She would creep up next to me in the morning and snuggle with me at night. I couldn't resist her, I was her mommy. When she was an outdoor kitty she enjoyed catching birds and "offering" us dinner by leaving them on the front porch. We moved two times after that to apartments where she was no longer able to go outside. Savannah didn't love the city life, but quickly adjusted to the pampered life. After all, she was a diva! She was diagnosed with diabetes, and I was sure it was a death sentence. It took me two years to figure out she needed something other than Humulin N (btw-our wedding photographer recommended this site). We were welcomed to Lantus Land, and within a year, no longer needed insulin. She taught me how to be a parent, and that sleep is overrated. We moved one more time, and she was happy to finally have a sun room to view birds and other creatures, all while sunbathing in the comfort of her own home. She even caught a bat that was in the house, mid-air!! When I was pregnant and dealing with unbearable back pain, she was always there to be awake with me at 3 am, and for late night snack too. Savannah was so good to my son, she never scratched or hissed. She provided me comfort when I lost my dad this summer. She would sit and purr softly next to me, head butt me, reach out with her paw. She was a good companion. I miss her terribly already.I am so lucky that I had the honor of being her mommy.

I picture her on the beach catching little critters and sunbathing, maybe snacking on some cape cod chips and deli meat...love you 'nana girl.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful little girl. It sounds like you were a wonderful mama bean, and she had a good life. When I lost my Kisa, it helped me to have something that had his fur on it to hold when I was really missing him (the vet even clipped some and put it in a little box for me). I found a sweatshirt that had been in a corner of my closet where he liked to hide, and it was covered in gray fur. That was my snuggle blanket for quite a while. Take comfort in those good memories and know you did everything you could to make her life happy. Sending hugs....

What a beautiful love story for Savannah. I'm so sorry she had to leave for another dimension (where I'm sure she is enjoying that beach.) What a great personality she had and she really seemed to understand you and what you needed. My heart goes out to you and your family on this sad day. I know her memories will be with you forever. cat_pet_icon

I am so sorry. I know how worried you've been over the past few days. Your words paint a beautiful portrait of Savannah's personality and her bond with you. She truly is a sweet girl. She was clearly well loved.

Fly free Savannah and land softly. There are many of our kitties who will be meeting you at the Bridge and will keep you safe until you are reunited with the ones you love best.

What a beautiful story of a wonderful life.
I am so sorry to hear that your sweet girl has crossed, and pray that happy memories help your heart to heal in the days ahead.

I had taken this picture some time back, but I think it fits perfectly with your wishes for your little angel, sunbathing on the beach.

Fly free sweet Savannah, and land softly as you are greeted by all of our GA kitties at the bridge.

Hugs,
Carl
