Sorry I've not been around much. I've spent most of the year watching Saoirse's clinical signs disimprove along with her numbers. The deterioration accelerated a few weeks ago and finally - FINALLY!!! - I managed to get a new Lantus Rx just over a week ago. Needless to say, going through this did neither of us any favours health-wise. It was awful seeing those lethargic sprawls come back and being powerless to help my beloved girl. Saoirse has picked up a little since restarting on insulin (the first week was rough).

Sending scritches to all the kitties.

Oh Mogs! I am so sorry to hear you and Saoirse have been going through a tough patch. We've missed you more than you will ever know! Glad to hear Saoirse is improving a bit. Hope you are too! Sending healing vines to you both! :bighug:

I'm so sorry Mogs! I hope both you and Saoirse start feeling a lot better soon! Tons of hugs to you both!

Oh, Áine... I'm so disappointed to hear this news. Have been wondering how the both of you were doing. Was hoping everything was okay, but now I know it's not. At least you've finally been able to get a new Lantus script for Saoirse, so that's a step in the right direction. Hang in there. You're very good at taking care of your beautiful Saoirse. But while you're doing that, please also take good care of yourself. I think of you often. Sending hugs to you and scritches to Saoirse.

Hi Mogs,
You have been missed! Please let us know if you need anything! So sorry to hear about Saoirse's trouble s but so glad to hear she's doing a bit better. Sending lots and lots and lots of healing vines and hugs to you both!

I'm sorry to hear is, it's always so disappointing, and starts the worry all over again. We're going thru the same thing right now.

Hi Mogs, you have been sorely missed! I'm so sorry to hear that Saoirse has had a set-back, and you've both had a tough time of it. I hope both you and she continue to improve! You are in my prayers. Hugs to you :bighug::bighug::bighug: and scritches to Saoirse :cat: :cat: :cat:, along with tons of healing vines.

Hello Mogs ~I have been wondering how you were and so hoping that no news was bad news. Please know that we all will be keeping the best of thoughts for you and Saoirse. Let's hope that this time on the juice will be short lived . :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Mogs, I'm so sorry. Keeping you and Saoirse in my prayers, and sending love and healing vines. Please do keep us posted, and you know we're here, any time, if you need us! {{{HUGS}}}

Thanks, Bobbie and Lucy. :bighug:

I gave her a couple of teaspoons of chicken supplementary food with her normal food today to try to move her to a diet with less fat content, and it has disagreed with her. It's always the pits when you try to do something to help and it makes things worse. :(

Yes, it is, been there a few times myself. But it happens. Don't beat yourself up about it, please! You know, and Saoirse does, too, that you only ever want to do what's best for her! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

All we all try to do is our best for our babies. Some things are just out of our control. Please don't beat yourself up. What is Spec fPL?

What is Spec fPL?

It's one of the blood tests for pancreatitis:

Snap fPL is one that vets can do on the premises; it can give a yes/no result for likelihood of pancreatitis present.

Spec fPL needs to be performed at an IDEXX lab. It returns a numerical result that indicates presence and severity of pancreatitis.

Hi Mogs, it's nice to see you again. But I'm sorry to hear that Saoirse is out of remission, and that her health is causing problems for you both....

Take it steady, sweetie. And remember to breathe... :bighug:

Oh no! I haven't been around (busy moving out-of-state) but I hate to come back and see this update! Sending good thoughts to you and your beautiful furry girl.

Hi mogs. Am very sorry to hear that saoirse is back out of remission. I have noticed that when remis pancreatitis flairs his blood glucose seems to rise as well .

I have no doubt that you will manage to get saoirse regulated again. Have you managed to identify what is ticking off the pancreas (impossible I know). Recently Remi has been on tylan for his IBD and even though it seemed to put him off his food his blood glucose was generally lower than previously. During his time on it his IBD was much better.

Best wishes

Sarah

I'm sorry to hear that your little girl is hurting. I really hope she is better fast and you can shift some stress! I know she appreciates your efforts. :)
