Hi all! I hope this is the right area to post this. Well, I live in the Northside area of San Antonio TX (around the 78249 area), and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with good vets that are familiar with/supportive of home-testing for diabetic cats, and maybe also just generally up-to-date on diabetic cat treatment. I've honestly had pretty bad experiences with the vets I've been to so far (sometimes from not knowing about glargine/lantus, sometimes from not being supportive of home-testing, sometimes just having really bad personalities, etc.), and was hoping someone might have a good recommendation for a vet in the area. Thanks for any help anyone can provide, me and Lucky appreciate it!

Alas, I'm not in San Antonio.

On http://Maps.google.com you can search for "vet near San Antonio"

Then use the Vet Interview Topics in my signature link to screen in or out various vets.

I'm originally from San Antonio but I always used the vet at Randolph AFB, not sure if you have access to the base. They were really good and open to new ideas and new treatments. Didn't have a diabetic at the time either... ;-)

Thanks for the replies. @BJM i really liked the screening list you made, unfortunately it seems (here in San Antonio at least) finding a vet that passes might be easier than finding a needle in a haystack. But I'll keep trying, we'll see I guess. @Dusty Bones I wish I still had access to the bases, I used to be an Air Force brat but that was in a past life, but thanks for the recommendation anyways.

Recent veterinary graduates may be more up to date.

What's the nearest vet school? Maybe they have a list of recent graduates by city.
