Sue,

I want to reply to you and be supportive and do what I can to help. But, I am not sure what to say. I think Sam is in some very scary numbers and doesn't seem to be moving. I am sure you have read about DKA and ketones and I sure hope you are testing for them.

Please let us know if we can do anything to help.

I'm not sure what to think with Sam. I am going to make another vet appointment on Monday with our "new " vet. He did have a couple of blood panels done and we should get the results back on Monday, so I will call and talk to Dr. Maness and make the appt. They also did a urine test on him too. I thought they'd call if something came back that was wrong. I'd hope they'd call. nailbite_smile

Did your vet explain the rationale for lowering the dose? What led to the idea that there was too much insulin? It might help for us to understand.

i think sam has shown that not to be the case. some dose increases in .5 increments should be discussed.
we really want to get him down from those chronic high's. i know you are gone most of the day...as you raise dose can dh help with the testing?
