Sam was very grumpy, so I knew he'd be high and I had to stick him 4 times. After the 4th poke he jumped off the counter and ran off. He wouldn't eat his treat or anything. God, I hate those high numbers. He did get a small shot very late of .8U with a reading of 346. I just didn't have the computer on at the time.

+6 171 Sam ate a big meal and he was playing with Oliver this afternoon.

sue are you poking near the very very edge of the ear....it has the least amount of nerve ending and bleeds well. he should'nt even really feel it at that place.
 
I used to use a small medicine vial filled with hot water to poke against. It fit the groove of her ear and kept me from being a regular blood donor. :mrgreen:
 
i use a cotton ball on one side..the pokie on the other.... then press on the blood spot with said cotton ball after done to keep from scabbing.
 
That's just what I do Lori, I just managed to get the edge of the ball this morning, so I poked my own finger. It does hurt! ;-)
