hi could someone help me with dosing for my cat sammy. she is on lantus twice daily 9:30am and 9:30pm. she eats tc feline raw chicken and beef and fancy feast tender liver and chicken and evo 95% turkey and chicken. when i put dose up to 4.25 every couple of mornings she was below 200 so i could not give insulin. so i thought it was to high so i dropped back to 3.75 and now high numbers again. not sure what to do. she has no infections as i got that check again two days ago. i will check my message later as i have to go to work. any ideas would be great.

Well obviously the 4.25u was too high for her since you were having to skip shots which was then sending her back into high numbers again. Plus it does look like that since you reduced her she is starting to get better numbers again. Right now I would continue to hold her at that 3.75 and see where she settles on that particular dose and then after about a week or so on that dose then decide to go up or down. It is possible that you are going to need to take her up again but I would like to see how she does once she settles down some on this new dose.

It isn't uncommon when you change doses to have some pretty wonky numbers in the beginning has her shed readjusts. While I would like to see you hold the 3.75u for a little longer to see how she does on it what I suspect you are going to find is that she does need more insulin but you may need to lower your no shoot number. But it is sort of too soon to tell.
