Sammy is safe and has been moved from the Wake County (Raleigh) NC shelter into a local rescue's foster system. The rescue would like him moved into a DCIN foster or a permanent home within two weeks.

DCIN will, as always, transport if needed.
 
There are updates in the blog here, including an update in the comments from Rachel today.

We have 7 days to place this cat. Rachel's inn is full and that is the most she has agreed to temporarily foster and treat this extra-sweet boy. Her rescue pulled him from a kill shelter. A kill shelter. If that hadn't happened, he would be.....

Wherever you are, DCIN will do its best to get Sammy to you, if you are willing to open your heart and home to him. If you need support for his insulin and diabetic supplies, we can talk about what DCIN can do for you.
