Sammy is safe and has been moved from the Wake County (Raleigh) NC shelter into a local rescue's foster system. The rescue would like him moved into a DCIN foster or a permanent home within two weeks.

DCIN will, as always, transport if needed.
 
There are updates in the blog here, including an update in the comments from Rachel today.

We have 7 days to place this cat. Rachel's inn is full and that is the most she has agreed to temporarily foster and treat this extra-sweet boy. Her rescue pulled him from a kill shelter. A kill shelter. If that hadn't happened, he would be.....
