Hello All,

It has been a while since I have posted myself and thought I would let everyone know how Jack and Samantha are doing.

Thanks to all of you and your support, I am pleased to announce that Samantha had her first GREEN AM/PMBG since starting her 2nd trial without insulin.

Jack is sailing along on day 22 of remission. Finally got the baby scale in and he weighs 8 lbs. 9 1/2 oz. At 8.8 when DX'd he vet said he should put on 1.5 lbs. Looks like I am going to have to start feeding him a little more than the 1/2 of 5.5 oz can twice a day.

I am thinking of giving him an extra 1/4 can. Once a day. That would be a 25% increase in food. I do worry about what this might do to his numbers, but I do feel he should gain at least a pound.

Any thoughts or comments on the increase in food would be greatly appreciated.

Wow Kevin! That's great news! I'm so happy for you, Jack and Samantha. I hope that one day I can say the same about Hank. :smile:

That's amazing news about Samantha!! I wish I could give you some advice on the food, but I'm way too new and inexperienced. Good luck with the food increase!
 
Feed mini-meals to spread out the work load for the pancreas.

A timed feeder may be helpful for this.
 
Hi BJ,

I have decided to do an 1/8 of can extra AM and PM. I do feed at PS and +2. The 1/4 extra last night got me about 30 minutes of extra sleep before Jack got hungry at 4:30 AM

I got a 1/2 of this, a 1/4 of that, 1/8 of this other...I might as well be on weight watchers.

Seriously considering a scale for the food. Geezzzz....
