Well i'm perturbed.

I had meant to throw out the old Purina proplan DM dry food that sam used to it. Accidentally left it on my kitchen counter. I wake up and it's on the ground and sam's eaten probably the remaining cup of it.

His blood sugar is now 447. Good christ.

Well, that happens. Never underestimate a cat’s love for its dry food. He’ll be higher today but his bg will come down tomorrow. Also, shelters and rescue groups are really struggling right now and inundated with an insane amount of dumped animals. They will always appreciate and accept any food, especially the specialty kind :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I've literally got 6 half cans of wet food & a bowl with a baggie over it of wet food not even kidding in my refrigerator...refusing different foods is the worst :arghh: Panzer got into his old dry food about a month after being off it then he found my ex roommates dog food. If it's something they can't have they will not give up until they get it! His numbers were high for a week, it sucks I know but they are buttheads

Thanks to all of you for your help. He's down to 156 at PMPS thankfully. I've started him on miralax (restoralax in canada) for constipation, that seems to be helping him be more comfortable.

I also got a new vial of insulin. I noticed the previous one had floaties in it, so I threw it away (read I could keep it for 6 months, I kept it for a little over 4 in total). Maybe that's part of his problem with his regulation lately is the insulin being ineffective. I did leave it out for 12 hours accidentally a month ago, thought it would be fine.

Anyways; just super disturbed seeing him that high today. He was drinking stupid amounts of water as well until he started dropping. And peeing a lot again. That upset me more than anything. Interestingly enough he seems almost more content at higher blood sugar levels; he was totally fine today. Like even in the 400's he was just lounging around totally happy. Only when he started dropping later did he get vocal again.

Hey @chuckstables how's it going with Sam. Are his numbers still high from the dry food or has he starts to come back down? I looked at his spreadsheet but it's not updated. Hoping everything is okay with the 2 of you!

Hey Chuck, I hope all is well with Sam & your sisters new babies & her daughter you've been helping her with :bighug: hope you can give us an update soon & also update Sam's spreadsheet :)
