Salem has been on lantus for abt 6wks. Diag aftr depp shot. He started at 1unit & most recent dose was 2.5. I believe he took well to higher dose as his numbers hv been low these past 2days. We haven't given shot in abt 36hrs & he's eating normal. I've noticed considerably less drinking/peeing also & he appears more like himself. May hv even gained some weight. Is this a good sign that he may be heading into remission w the liq numbers? Any advice would be appreciated. We didn't shoot today because his level was 80.

Welcome! Glad you made it over here.

His pancreas may be healing. What we know about cats going into remission is that the remission is likely to be the strongest if the cat stays on insulin as long as possible, allowing his body support for the longest possible time for him to heal. That typically means continuing to shoot insulin while decreasing the dose as needed. So a cat wouldn't usually (ever?) go from 2.5u to nothing.

You want him to stay in remission once he gets there!

Can you add those recent test #s on his ss? That can help us see things in context.

I've added recent testings now. Still low numbers. We haven't given a shot since 4/5. Is this normal? Could he be in remission so quickly?
