Afternoon Everyone!!! Today is not going well @ all.....Got the run-a-round from the vet's office this morning & Sabrina's #'s are staying high all day. Is this another bounce, fur shot or something else going on with her. She's not a happy camper but eating & gobbling up her Bonita flakes. I did take a trip to Walmart & got her more Fancy Feast. I'm goin to test @ +10....If her #'s still high, do I dose her then or wait til PMPS @ 6:30 tonight....... :dizcat She's still on 1 unit of Lantus 2x's a day & has been at that dose since starting 1/15. Hi Cindy & Sabrina

I can't give dosing advice, but you may be able to shoot early, with or without an increase, but you'll
have to wait for someone more experienced than me...

One other thing, could you please change the 911 in your topic to the ? mark. As unfortunate as high numbers are, the 911
is reserved for emergencies ;-)

Here's a link to your condo yesterday

No problem  You never have to apologize for asking questions, everyone here is happy to help :-D

Usually if numbers are quite high you can shoot 1 hour early, but for two hours, or if you plan to increase
the dose (which could be needed), you should wait for more advice... Does shooting an hour early fit with your schedule?

Looking at Sabrina's SS, she might have gone low last night after her PMPS of 263, and this is a bounce from low numbers. (like on Jan.30-31)
I hate to pester, but an evening test or two (if you can) would have answered that question ;-)

Ok...site went down, tested her @ + 10 -1/2 499, SHOT @ 5:30(+11) 1 U Lantus....will test @ +4 (9:30 pm) & post  Paws crossed, her numbers go down.......I'll post tonights results....... hopefully no more questions & she's stable for the night..... :thumbup Thank you EVERYONE!!!!!!! Only you know if you gave a fur shot.

There's really not a way to determine if this is a bounce. There's a fair number of cycles where you only have pre-shot data so there's no way to know just how low numbers went. Sabrina has dropped into blue numbers on this dose so it's possible that's where the numbers have gone. If that's the case, a bounce is certainly possible. I hate to sound like a broken record but that's among the reasons that getting at least one test each cycle is important.

Hi Cindy

I've read back over some of your condos. I think you need a new vet...I'm sure that might have been suggested. One thing I think is important is the vet needs to know she works for you. You are paying her for a service. You do not need to get a curve and I also wouldn't do that to my cat....as Sienne said...when you are getting real time data.

I think she's been at this dose way too long but without some more tests, it's difficult to recommend a dose change one way or the other. For instance, the night of 1/30. She dropped from 304 to 117 in four hours. I would have tested after that 117 to be sure she was coming up. So it's hard to know if that hard bounce into the 400s the next morning was due to a lower number than 117 or from the 117....because the liver just wasn't used to numbers in the hundreds.

On 2/4, she could have easily dipped low in the a.m. cycle. I've seen cats go from 300 to 40 to 300 in one cycle and without the midcycle test, they would have never known.

I think you did a great job of shooting early tonight. And a great job getting some tests. Even though its in your remarks, it's also helpful for us if you out it in your PM "U" column as "1u @ +11".

So I think if you are able to get a few more tests each cycle in the next few days, we can adjust the dose.

PS...you have two condos for today. Can you please just do one condo per day? Thanks!
