Tzuri is a friendly, out-going Russian Blue mix. She has amazing emerald green eyes. She is a lovable lap cat. She is looking for security, love, a lifetime commitment! And in return she will cherish you and offer you endless appreciation and entertainment! Tzuri has food-induced diabetes (too many carbs in her diet) that can be turned around with a proper diet. She is on a low dose of insulin until her body is able to manage. She is a fabulous cat who deserves a second chance. She would love to be your one and only or perhaps find a home with another gentle cat who won't be intimidated by her outgoing purrsonality!

There is a rescue for Feline Diabetics called Diabetic Cats In Need. You can get to it via a link in the announcements above the posts section.

Having recently lost my cat Gandalf, who was grey, I am not ready to adopt another diabetic or healthy cat anytime soon, but I am sure she will find a good, knowledgeable home. We refer you to DCIN as they are equipped to help find diabetic cats proper homes.

Tzuri is part of my horde of fosters. She's been in foster with me since summer 2010.

Her formal name is Tzuritza (previously Tabitha). She didn't answer to Tabitha, so I combined Zuri ('beauty' in Swahili) with Tzaritza (Russian for 'Empress'), to rename her Tzuritza. Not only is she truly beautiful, but I thought naming her for her Beauty was a nice nod to my Beast. Her photo on petfinder looked similar enough to my beloved Minibeast (who died suddenly, not long before) that at first I didn't want to take her because it made me cry just to look at her. But in the end, I just had to help her.

Tzuri is very affectionate and sweet. She is very sociable, and loves to be petted and skritched. She doesn't particularly like being picked up or carried around. She is a great climber and likes high cat trees and sunny window beds. She loves canned food such as Fancy Feast pate' and FF Chunky chicken/turkey, and also likes raw food (especially rabbit). Tzuri gets on perfectly well with most of the cats and is very tolerant of kitten antics, though she will deliver a smack if they try to get in her food. As for the several would-be alpha cats... well, she doesn't like them. A home with either no other cats or just a few submissive cats would be so much less stressful for her.

My biggest problem is regulating Tzuri. She's a microdose kitty (presently at top of zero line) and I just can't get the dose accurate/consistent enough, I guess. :YMSIGH: So she bounces up into the 300s. It doesn't help that I work very long hours and it's difficult to spot check as much as I'd like.

If anyone is interested in knowing more, I would be happy to talk via PM, email or phone.
