Down and then shot back up last night/early this morning.
Same exact AMPS as yesterday AMPS = 271
Appetite still decreased. Ate his FD snacks middle of night, but not interested in his regular food. Ate very little this morning. I'll be making something new, so hopefully that all that is the issue. He did have a poopy problem, too, that required some clean-up.
We have not given up, but the auto feeder so far is not working. He must have been laying near his dish when the feeder turned on last night and it scared the b-jeezus out of him and he was freaked out.

+2 = 193
I am beginning to have concern about the lowered appetite. I think he may just be having poopy problems, and he is quite mopey. Taffy has often had problems with passing his #2s and they may be too soft. It seems more like a motility issue. I never know quite what helps, I have tried all of the "tricks" I think and nothing seems to be the definitive answer to this problem.

Sorry about the tummy and appy problems. Likely related to the possible IBD and or an pancreatitis episode? Do you add any probiotics to his food? I've used SEB to clear up loose poop problems. Not sure how many proteins you rotate but could be he is having an issue with on. So many if's, and's or maybe's.... :(

I do give probiotics every few days. And I need to go to a new protein, as I have not been changing much since the FD Dx. Slippery elm, which is great stuff, seems to disagree with him. He won't eat pumpkin. I added a little soaked psyllium last night. He just always seems like he needs a little bulk, but I have not found the magic answer.
I went ahead and gave a Cerenia, as he had a look on his face that says "I don't feel good" and he picked a bit at his food right after (obviously unrelated). Trying to stay even and calm about this.

Catching up...115 @ +5.5, 247 @ +10
PMPS 282
Not sure if this is a bounce or just running high?? He has not gone very low. Was not feeling well, so maybe that was raising #s. He seems to be feeling a bit better, has some appetite back.

I don't see any really good explanation for the higher numbers, but being a cat, they don't always provide one

I hope he's feeling better tomorrow!

+5.5 = 300
I am really perplexed by these high numbers.
Looking for more movement tomorrow.
I can see that he has done similar before and then got to moving pretty actively, so I hope that is the case tomorrow.

He's seen green twice since the skip so that's promising. If he wasn't feeling good that certainly can be a factor. Also, some kitties run higher when they're not eating much. Just sit on this dose and see what he does the next day or two.

Did you switch to a different canned food? What is he getting right now?
Soooo frustrating when they won't eat...sorry the autofeeder isn't working, :( I feel your pain on that one:bighug:
Cmon Taffy, eat YOUR FUDS! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Unfortunately the only suggestions I have would be to repeat your fantastic advice to me!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hang in there Julie..:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

We have not given up on the feeder! I think Taffy was just near it the first time and it startled him. I am setting it to turn every other hour or so, with just a couple pieces of FD. I want them to get accustomed to the sound and realize that it means treats. I also left it open for a bit so both kitties could examine it thoroughly. We'll see!

He is eating, just less enthused for several days. I think the Cerenia helped yesterday. No real changes, except I made the last batch of raw with non-organic chicken. Guess I'll go back to the pricey stuff! Last night I also tried the Nature's Variety 95% as a mix-in instead of FF, because I thought that this was LC. But it had carrots and peas so maybe it is not so LC??? Also, it states "ground" flaxseed on the label, but there were clearly whole seeds in the food. Pisses me off! Cats can't utilize this for Omegas and it is useless as a bulking ingredient if whole and I worry it could irritate digestive tract. Another expensive lesson courtesy of the lame pet food industry.
