Found vomit in two places.....Must have been RumpelT.....Looked like all of her supper.....Found small plastic part from one of the cat carriers in vomit!!!! WTF !!!! ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile
Did not eat 1/2 can FF after test. Tummy Ache I Presume.

I don't think you do. But, when budgets allow, I would take her back to the vet. Her eating habits are pretty weird. She is getting plenty of food and shouldn't be ravenous with her numbers. I wonder if her trying to eat people food and other things when completely well regulated, is a symptom of something else. You might post on Health, note she is well regulated and very close to OTJ but still ravenously hungry. Describe her body -sometimes that's a clue - and see if anyone has any ideas.

Will try to get a pic of her from above today and post it. She doesn't look like ANY of those pictured in the link below. She always had a weird body shape. :YMSIGH:

Even when she was a kitten she ate strange things...She would pull off parts of the toilet seat cover and eat them. She also had a fetish for rubber bands....I don't even keep any in the house anymore...she would actually open the drawers where they were kept. :roll:
 
That strange chewing or eating is called Pica. My siamese mix Lilly,(GA) who was my diabetic would chew or eat plastic bags of any type. She would chew or eat grocery or trash bags. Had to really watch her.

That could certainly be the eating of strange things. I am still wondering why she wants to overeat catfood now that her numbers are in normal ranges off insulin. Maybe she just got in the habit of eating whatever was available - food or otherwise......

My Woody is a plastic eater and Rambo likes to eat strings off of anything :roll:

I though when PJ got down to the 140-170 range her appetite might subside but she's ravenous too. I can remember when I had to coax her to eat all her food which was all of a heaping tbsp.

Poor RumpleT! I hope she feels better!

Mine all love eating twist ties from bread bags. Have to super careful none are left lying around.
 
Bubbles also seems to be extremely hungry, most of the time. I am feeding her 1/2 can of FF Classic just about every 3 hours during the day. (total of 3-4 cans a day) She is constantly trying to get in the dog food, and also enjoys chewing on plastic supermarket bags. Her BGs have remained below 130, usually 80's 90's, except for one above 150, after a dog food raid. She also still urinates more than before her diagnosis, and is a little overweight (12 lbs), and she has that older lady, post-spay body I see on a lot of older calicoes.
I guess these "quirky" cats need heavy duty monitoring for life?
My vet couldn't find anything else wrong...just said keep a close eye on her...she is 15+...and is still very feisty, especially when it comes to food.

RumpelT seems to be feeling better today. cat_pet_icon Back to normal food-vacuum behavior. :roll:

Jeepers Sugar Cats....we feed them the best food available and they have to go and find silly "things" to eat. Next thing ya know we will be putting those covers in our electrical sockets so they don't try to stick their claws in them. :lol: With my 7 kitties here, I always say "It is like a day care center for two-year olds". :lol:

Have you ever used Feliway? Maybe get a diffuser and put it in her mail room. This could help if any of it is stress.

Maybe a pet multivitamin would help. Sometimes pica in humans is due to a nutrient deficiency (ex ice eating often signals low iron).

Are you doing digestive enzymes?

Definitely a YES to this, except that with babies and toddlers, you only usually have to look at "dangers" at knee level or below. With kitties, you've got to safety-proof from floor to ceiling with the ones that like to get into stuff :)
