Prayers from us. FWIW, our Trixie was in a similar situation - she was diagnosed with Stage III kidney disease out of the blue, too. In the long run, she actually stayed stable with it for 3 years, though (fluids, various meds, etc, helped). It finally caught up with her this spring and she crossed in June. Kidney disease is a beast, but for some kitties it can be managed with good QOL for quite some time.

A couple things to consider: Has Rom's BP been checked? Sometimes elevated BP can cause elevated kidney values. With Trix, we found out she did have high BP right after her CKD diagnosis, and getting her BP under control did improve her kidney values - not back to normal, but they got better.

Also, since the vetty suspects a UTI, I would consider digging deeper to see if Rom has a kidney infection - that could also cause an increase in kidney values, too.

Prayers for all that sweet Rom has going on right now.
