I need some advice regarding low numbers.
What I've tried so far (waiting and testing again, delaying the shot, giving reduced dose or skipping the shot all together) did not work . Monday AM - green number, no insulin, he jumped up in the evening and it looks like we've lost the overlap so he has been a bit higher since than (drinking more water as well).
The only thing I haven't tried yet I think is giving him (on green number) much reduced dose on time to keep insulin working. My thinking is that because his onset is very late so by the time the new shot of insulin starts working the old shot is loosing its potency and small frequent meals keep everything in balance.
What do you think, maybe too risky?

I don't know about giving insulin on a green with your insulin, Marlena. Hope @Elizabeth and Bertie will.

The way I suggest for regular PZI Users to to chase the number. If you skip the shot at the regular time, test until he reaches your target - with PZI it is usually 160/180, as long as you can monitor. Then give a tiny dose. Dosing is usually off any kind of 12/12 schedule and does require a lot of testing and time, but it usually works to help them OTJ.
