Good morning,
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=115598&p=1216008#p1216008

Rocky hasd yet another night, and morning, still in the stinky pinkies.

I've got a head-cold which started yesterday after I was out in the wind for a few hours severely cutting back the 3 rose bushes that grow in front of my house. It was a beautiful spring day out here yesterday and I just had to get some sunshine. Took some Benedryl so maybe this will clear up and go away now. I need it to be gone PDQ.

I am wishing that Rocky's BG come down today, but the greens would be too far as I cannot monitor him today. I am scheduled to bring two of my kittens, Mr. Awesome and Reese, to Petco Folsom to go through adoption. I am going to miss these little tikes. I trapped, tamed, and had them up for adoption previously but after they were vetted they came down with a terrible sickness and I had to bring them both home again until they were healthy again.

Anyway, it's a half hour drive to Folsom, at least another 2 hours setting up their kennel there, and then depending on what time I drive back home, a possible one hour drive.

Rocky's recap from yesterday:
AMPS 387 +2 343 +4 332 +6 339 +10 385
PMPS 368 +2 367 +4 322 +9 351

deep drops Re: 3/18 Rocky AMPS 317 +2 225 +3 176

Rocky had a 92 point drop in one hour from 317 to 225, so I put one drop of Karo syrup into his 225 meal. In the next hour I tested him again, at +3 and he had dropped 49 point drop from 225 to 176 in one hour. This time I fed him 1/4 can of Special Diet Turkey and Giblet. This Friskies flavor is suppose to have 5% carbs.

I was SUPPOSE to take the two kittens up Folsom today to put up for adoption, but Rocky's drop is slowing that down. I'm a little afraid to leave now. :? Let's see where his BG is around +4.

Looks like I am not leaving my house any time soon, darn it. Even after feeding Rocky the 5% carb food, his BG dropped another 88 points in one hour.

Oh man, I sure am glad I did NOT leave to deliver the kittens at noon. I was thinking about putting only a 1/4 can of the 5% food in his room and the leaving, but I did not.

These trips to drop off kittens for adoption are never a quickie. I have to clean out the litter boxes in the kennels of the last cats/kittens who are no longer in the kennels where Reese and Mr. Awesome will be on display; then clean out the entire kennel with disinfectant; clean out their food and water dishes and get them new food and clean water. And of course while I'm doing all of this people are gathering around me and looking at the cute kittens and asking all sorts of questions. I'm usually at the store for at least 3 or 4 hours.. Then, I have to consider the drive home. While it only takes 35 minutes to get to Folsom from here during the day, leaving Folsom for Elk Grove at 3PM is not good. There are like 100 gazillion more cars on the freeway at mid-afternoon throughout rush hour. It then takes at least one hour to get home.

So, here I sit and wait to see if Rocky will go back up to 100.. I don't like this hammering him with all of the carbs today. Very worried that he is going to go into a really high BG tonight after those sudden drops today, plus my feeding him the LC food.

I think, I hope, I pray that I am safe to head on down the road now to deliver these kittens to the store. Rocky's BG seems to finally be on the rise after feeding him 3/4 can of LC Friskies.

you got your wish for a green cycle! i wouldn't blame his +10 on that little bit of carbs - usually they wear off fairly quickly. i suspect he's bouncing from the green numbers. looks like that little bit extra insulin in his dose was just the thing. let's hope he returns to green soon.
