Last night Rocky did not like his food because of a supplement I added to it so did not have much to eat with his injection (our usual regime).
As I was busy and thinking that my insulin usually has a late onset and food was beef which can spike BG more then turkey or chicken I was not rushing to feed Rocky again but he had his supper an hour later.
But my instinct was to check Rocky's BG before going to bed.
To my utter horror I found out he was hypoing with BG of 2.2 (AlphaTrak meter) at+3 without any symptoms.
I was checking him every 20 - 30 minutes and feeding him food with more carbohydrates. He was fine and enjoying extra food. His BG was rising albeit rather slow.
This morning his BG was 8.4 then 10.1 but he had food 1 hour before that and a lot of food at night.
I'm not sure why his BG dropped like that, it could be delay in feeding, an inaccurate amount of insulin in the syringe (like fat 0.25 instead of 0.25) or his pancreas kicking in.
So this morning I decided not to give any insulin and see what happens.
I'm not sure what to do PM.
Rocky is well regulated but I'm not sure at which point I should stop giving insulin.
If anybody could offer me some advice/opinion I would be really grateful.
