Thanks Carl for asking and I'm sorry I haven't checked in - all is OK - this is what I feared - this time of year I basically work 8:30 to about 7/8pm and often that involves attending events and I'm at work related things on the weekends - it's just insane for me and I don't have the time to devote to everything like I wish I did. I have been keeping track of his numbers but only testing about 5 times a day - amps/mid-day/late day/pmps/before bed.
The SS is only updated up to Saturday day time - I will get that taken care of and add the last few days. He's not getting great numbers amps and pmps - and since I don't have any way of checking throughout the day it's frustrating. We didn't make the Vets because my husband got a big job and it was too complicated. Now I can't do this weekend because they are already booked up and the following weekend is July 4th weekend which around here is like ... well, Mardi Gras and Christmas all wrapped up into one in terms of stuff going on, traffic etc.
He's drinking a lot of water still but generally seems OK - not as lethargic, eyes are pretty bright, he's very clingy with me and VERY loud and demanding about food. We are still having some constipation issues - moved him over to miralax and haven't had outstanding results so now have him on that AND the lactulose. Found the Feline Mega Colon forum on yahoo ( I guess there is a forum for everything) but it's very hard to follow - did get some good input there.
I just have NO idea what to do in terms of his numbers. 5.00 seems too high as I feel like he gets all bouncy and 4.5 just ain't making me stand up and salute. I am sort of dreading what the vet will say which I believe will be a switch of insulin but I can tell you right now I sincerely don't see how I could do that during the summer months. Just learning anything new would be impossible. So I don't know. I'm feeling like he'd do better with 5.00 in the am and 4.5 in the evening so he won't be too low to shoot in the morning - he seems to go higher during the day - don't know if I'm imagining that or what. I have to study the SS but right now it all looks like a mess of pink and yellow to me...
I miss the support of coming on here and asking questions and getting feed back - I just have so little time these days it's hard. Thanks for asking about us and I appreciate any thoughts on this post that anyone feels like giving.
Want to go check on everyone's kitties now and see how they are doing - hope all is well.
