After a difficult week, we put Chelsea down on Saturday morning. Her little body just could not do it anymore. Either she had a stroke or the diabetes just damaged her back legs extensively and just gave out. By Friday, she could not walk at all. It was so painful to watch and the process on Saturday was even worse. It is comforting to know that she is not in pain anymore, but I wish I could turn the clock back and change things so the diabetes didn't have this affect.

I wanted to thank everyone here for your support throughout that last few months. I will be donating her supplies (meter and lancits) so you all can help someone else.

What a beautiful kitty. I am so, so sorry for your loss. You did what you had to for her, and like most others here, I know firsthand how gut-wrenching that must have been for you. It's an act of love and bravery to take their pain away when the time comes. Peace to you and your family as you grieve Chelsea's loss.
